Do you miss Advance Wars? Well, dust off your strategy cap because Warbits is here to teleport you back in time, now on mobile! For just a buck, itโs like finding treasure in the bargain bin. No ads and a slick HUDโtalk about a win-win situation! ๐
The gameplay hits all the right notes for turn-based enthusiasts. It involves city capture and unit production with solid visuals and soundtrack that'll have fans of Advance Wars or Wargroove feeling right at home. However, prepare for some strategic conundrums as diagonal movements are harder than convincing your cat to take a bath! ๐ฑ๐ง
Some players yearn for more polish than an apple before prom night ๐โจ but still can't resist its incredible charm. That cutesy art style might confuse folks trying to distinguish units faster than they spot Waldo!
With exciting features like map editor and local versus mode against CPUs (bring out those competitive vibes), this game is packed full of fun. A sprinkle of variety in city income mechanics keeps map capturing interestingโno snooze-fests here!
Sure, there are minor hiccups like typos waving hello ๐ or custom maps refusing offline play against bots... naughty little devils ๐ But hey, if you're craving that nostalgic strategy fix while hoping for Warbits 2: Electric Boogaloo ๐ก๐บ then grab this gem ASAP.
In conclusion: Just buy it. Your inner tactician will thank you later. ๐๐
"Do you remember Advance Wars? Warbits is an amazing translation of the classic, but now for mobile. No ads, clear HUD. The 1โฌ is very worth it!"
"The general gameplay is good, just like common turn-based-battle games with city capture and unit production. However, I'm disappointed that movement and attack range are calculated rigidly on straight horizontal and vertical (diagonal is counted as greater than 1 unit length). It messes up the initial plans. Sure I'll get used to it, but the overall maneuvers will always be unpleasant to see, e.g. adjacent 1-range units won't be able to attack if they're diagonal to each other."
"Solid game, really enjoying it so far. Can't wait for the steam release!"
"It's a great game, but lacks a significant amount of polish."
"Love it very much."
"Incrediblly fun"
"Android's Advanced Wars"
"Great game, similar to advance wars. Hope the dev keeps going, warbits 2, please."
"Solid visuals and soundtrack, if you enjoy games like advanced wars or wargroove this might be the best mobile equivalent."
"Nice game, could do with controller support and a few graphical changes so that different units are easier to distinguish from each other, then it would be 5*"
"Very reminiscent of advanced wars. There is some simplification in the combat which I think makes it more approachable for newbies but that I don't mind as a veteran. They also added some variety in the cities that earn income which I think is a very neat mechanic and makes maps and capturing more interesting"
"If you like games like Advance Wars, Warbits is a must. โ Pros: +Scratches Advance Wars itch while still feeling unique. +Map editor +Local Vs allows for players & CPUs +a list of unique powers feel impactful but not OP. โ Minor cons: -Map editor UI doesn't deselect previous options when changing terrain, color, or units & lacks clear way to delete units. -Puzzles exit to skirmish menu. โ Wishlist: -Map editor had "Space" tile from campaign. -Map editor had or can unlock endgame's 'synth' tileset."
"outstanding advance wars clone"
"it's great, not bad. you buy."
"the best strategy game you could ever find."
"Charming, well-made, balanced. Very good. My only criticism so far is that I've noticed a few typos in the text. Hopefully they get corrected in a future update. If you like Advance Wars or Fire Emblem, check this game out immediately!"
"It was a great advance wars-like experience, but the unique art style made things not easily identifiable, and the story wasn't engaging."
"Just buy it."
"Really fun game. Only 4 stars as you can't play custom/generated maps offline against a bit, it only lets you play their campaign/ missions."
"It's like Advance Wars but with a cutesy art style. Plenty of unit variety and requires a lot of strategy. Enjoyable campaign to work through. Absolutely worth the price for fans of Advance Wars!!!"
